It’s lipstick review time again guys! Yes, although I have been obsessed with journaling stuff, I still love to play with my make-up routine. Right now I’ll be writing a review on the lipsticks I have purchased last December. It’s a little bit late, but I’d rather be late than never.
Ethina is a local brand in the Philippines. They redefine beauty, by catering to modern Filipinas instead of making products that don’t embrace our culture as Filipinos. They currently have no website to purchase their items, but you can buy at Beautymnl, Shopee, or at their Instagram account. I purchased mine at Beautymnl.
Color: Wil (pinkish nude)
Ingredients: It’s mostly made of plant-based content, and it has beeswax which is perfect to keep your lips moisturized all day long.
Packaging: 4g, black tube with their logo. Honestly, I think a product must always have a good packaging because it attracts more customers, and it’s nice to look at packaging that looks artistic.
My take: I like the color and its application. However, since it’s not a matte lipstick, it doesn’t stay that long in your lips. The only downside for me is the smell. It kinda reminds me of the old lipsticks I used to have when I was in college. Plus, I think they need to make their packaging more fun or classy.
Price: 400 pesos, but I got this on sale at Beautymnl.
Repurchase: Yes, but in another color to try it too.
Color: 04 (reddish orange)
Ingredients: Squalane, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Candelilla Cera, Cera Microcristallina, Bess was, Tocopheryl Acetate, Nylon-12, Propylparaben
Packaging: Sparkle has the same packaging as Ethina. Black tube with their logo. The packaging looks cheap. I think they need to up their game with the packaging or probably the logo of it.
My take: I have no problem with the application and color.
Price: 250 pesos, but got it on sale at Beautymnl too.
This I think is an old line of e.l.f. lipstick, but it doesn’t matter. I love red lipsticks! I bought this accidentally when I was just walking home after shopping for some groceries.
Color: Razzle Dazzle Red (when I bought this I didn’t notice that there were glitters on the lipstick, but I like it anyway).
Ingredients: Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Petrolatum, Ceresin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Didecene, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Polybutene, Ozokerite, Paraffin, Polyethylene, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax…
Packaging: It’s similar to the first two items I mentioned above, the only difference is that I like their packaging because it’s neat. For the first two products, I think the problem with their packaging is the logo and the printing of it.
My take: Definitely love it!
Price: 200 pesos
Repurchase: Yes, because they are a cruelty free brand.
Smink Beauty Balm Shells Clay Blush
This Smink Beauty I bought is not a lipstick, it’s a clay blush with a yummy scent.
Color: Salome (Pinkisk blush)
Ingredients: All natural such as Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Shea butter, fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and sweet almond oil.
Packaging: 15g, the simplicity of the packaging made me bought this, together with the ingredients. It has a two-year shelf life.
My take: Everything on it is great. Even the scent is very enticing. It smells like bubblegum (Beautymnl fail to mention that part). I’ll definitely repurchase this item but in a different color because the shade doesn’t compliment my warm undertone.
Price: 180 pesos
I hope these would help you if you want to buy some affordable but good quality lipsticks or clay blush. I’ll write a short review of Beautymnl soon, where I usually shop online for beauty products.
